Nothing is uploaded. Live captions arrive in about a second instead of at the end of each sentence. New ### Listens to what the speakers play, not the microphone VoiceMe captures your computer's sound output — the same audio you hear — so it subtitles a meeting, a lecture video or a game stream without anyone speaking into a microphone. New ### Transcribed on your machine Speech is recognised locally with whisper.cpp. The engine and the model are downloaded from inside the app, each only when you click, and the model list is ranked against a scan of your hardware so the recommendation fits the computer it runs on. New ### Live captions in about a second The sentence being spoken is transcribed as it happens, about twice a second, with the settled part solid and the moving tail dimmed. The finished transcription of each sentence then replaces it. Live text is display-only: it is never typed, saved or exported. New ### A subtitle overlay made for streaming An always-on-top caption window with a chroma-key background for streaming software, adjustable type, click-through, and the option to keep it out of screen captures. New ### Dictation into any app — only when you arm it VoiceMe can type what it hears into the window you are working in, by paste or keystroke, with a list of apps it must never type into. It is off by default and needs an explicit arm. Once a block-list is set it fails closed: a window it cannot identify is not typed into. New ### Transcripts, hotkeys and a tour Transcripts are kept on disk, restored on launch and exportable as text, Markdown or JSON Lines. Global hotkeys cover capture, typing, the overlay and clearing it. A guided tour runs on first launch; About & Legal → Take the tour brings it back. Security ### A licence key works in VoiceMe only Pro is a one-time purchase. Activation is online, or offline with a licence file for a machine with no internet, and a key bought for another Royal SoftWorks product is refused. Fixed ### Found and fixed before release A correctness audit before 1.0 fixed overlapping sentences corrupting the clipboard, a restored clipboard wiping an image you had copied, the blocked-app list failing open, browser noise suppression muting the very audio being transcribed, and sentences dropped from the middle of a long dictation. Staying current ## How a release reaches you. ### One check, twenty seconds in VoiceMe looks for a new version once, twenty seconds after it starts, and tells you. Nothing downloads until you say so. ### Installer or portable The installer updates itself in place. The portable .exe cannot rewrite itself, so it sends you to the download page instead. ### You can verify what you install Windows builds carry an Authenticode signature issued to Royal SoftWorks — check the publisher in the file's properties before you run it. ## Get the current build.
