New ### Folder-by-folder disk usage Scans a drive and shows where the space actually went, as a sortable tree with each folder's share of its parent and a chart of the largest consumers that follows you as you open folders. Files Windows holds open — pagefile.sys and its relatives — are sized and reported rather than silently skipped, so the total matches what the drive reports. New ### Remote scanning over SFTP, FTPS and FTP The same view, against a server, with no agent to install on it. Save a connection with a password, a private key or your SSH agent, and the remote file system behaves like a local drive: folders are measured, duplicates are found, files can be deleted. New ### Duplicate detection by content Files are matched by what is in them, not by name: a size check first, then a hash of what survives, so identical copies under different names are found and near-misses cost almost nothing to rule out. A duplicate group can never be emptied of its last copy. New ### A guided tour The first launch walks through drives, servers, the file tree, duplicates, usage, your plan and settings, pointing at the real controls without clicking anything for you. Settings → Take the tour brings it back. Security ### Host keys pinned, passwords kept in the system keystore An SSH server's key is remembered on first connect, and a changed key stops the connection rather than warning about it. Saved passwords are encrypted with the operating system's own keystore; where the system cannot encrypt them, the app refuses to save them at all. Security ### A licence key works in Space Wizard only Activation names the product it is for, so a key — or an offline licence file — bought for another Royal SoftWorks app is refused with a message saying so. Machines with no internet can activate Pro from a licence file. Changed ### Cloud-sync folders are left alone OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud, Box, pCloud and MEGA folders are skipped by default, because walking them can make the provider download every online-only file. Local deletes go to the Recycle Bin; a delete on a server is permanent, and the button says so first. Compatibility ### Windows only, and it asks for administrator rights This release is for Windows 10 and 11, as an installer or a portable .exe. It asks for administrator rights at launch, which is what lets it read every folder on the drive instead of reporting a number that is quietly short. The Linux build is not out yet. Staying current ## How a release reaches you. ### One check, twenty seconds in Space Wizard looks for a new version once, twenty seconds after launch, and never during a scan. Settings → Updates → Check now asks at any time. Nothing downloads without asking. ### Installer or portable The installer updates itself in place. The portable .exe cannot rewrite itself, so it tells you about an update and sends you to the download page. ### You can verify what you install Windows builds carry an Authenticode signature issued to Royal SoftWorks — check the publisher in the file's properties before you run it. ## Get the current build.
