Speech recognition and ten text-to-speech voices run on your own computer: dictate, listen to answers, or hold a spoken conversation with no audio sent away.

## Voice, feature by feature

Each comes with a small drawing of how it works. They are diagrams, not screenshots; numbers in them are examples.

- ### Speech to text, on the machine

  Dictate instead of typing. Recognition runs on your processor.

  For your IT team: Whisper.

  Diagram: Your voice → Whisper (processor) → Text.
- ### Ten voices

  Five female and five male voices read answers aloud, generated on your computer.

  For your IT team: Supertonic 2.

  Diagram: F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, M1, M2, M3, M4, M5.
- ### Conversation mode

  Speak, hear the answer, speak again, hands free.

  Diagram: You speak → It answers aloud, then back to the start (hands free).
- ### Listening on a switch

  Turn speech detection on from the toolbar, with the microphone you choose.

  Diagram: Toolbar switch → Your microphone → Listening.
- ### Any answer, read aloud

  Play or stop any answer from the chat.

  Diagram: Answer → Play → Speech.
- ### No audio leaves

  Neither your voice nor its replies are sent anywhere.

  Checklist: Your voice stays here (yes), Replies stay here (yes).
- ### Rules for IT

  On a managed desk, voice input and output can each be allowed, and the voices limited.
