# Stream ReRuns 1.1: Built to Stay on Air for Days

stream-reruns changelog release-notes

**TL;DR —**Stream ReRuns 1.1 is for Windows 10 and 11, as an installer or a portable .exe. It loops a channel's own past broadcasts to one RTMP or RTMPS destination and is now built to run unattended for days: automatic reconnects, a stall watchdog, sessions ended on purpose before Twitch's 48-hour or Facebook's 8-hour cap, and a resume from the same second after an automatic restart. Pins, imports from disk and a 24-hour timeline are new. Every feature is free; Pro removes the watermark for €20 once.

Stream ReRuns gives a channel something on air while its owner is asleep, at work or away: it keeps the last day of your own past broadcasts on your disk and plays them out on a loop. 1.0 could do that for an evening. 1.1 is built to do it for days without anyone at the desk. It is on the [download page](https://royalsoftworks.com/download/#stream-reruns) for Windows.

## Staying on air is three defences, not one retry

**Reconnect.** A dropped connection is retried. That part is obvious; the other two are not.

**Notice the stall.** The worst failure is not a crash — it is an encoder that is still running but has stopped sending anything, because the connection under it died quietly. From outside it looks alive. 1.1 watches whether the stream is actually moving forward and restarts it when it is not.

**End the session before the platform does.** Twitch cuts any broadcast at 48 hours and Facebook at 8. Reconnecting does not help, because a reconnect within a short window is stitched into the _same_ broadcast and the clock keeps running. So the app now ends the session itself shortly before the cap, leaves a gap long enough for the next one to count as a new broadcast, and starts again. Services without a cap are left alone.

Waking the computer from sleep restarts the broadcast as well, since keeping a machine awake is a request to the operating system, not a guarantee.

## It picks up where it left off

After any of those automatic restarts, the loop carries on from the same broadcast and the same second instead of starting from the top — so viewers who were halfway through a rerun are not thrown back to the start. Pressing Stop and then Start yourself still begins at the top, on purpose.

## A loop you can arrange

- **Pins with a place.** Put a broadcast first, last, between every other one, or at its date. Pinning one that is not downloaded yet downloads it.
- **Imports from disk.** Your own video files can join the loop; anything that does not match the loop's recording format is converted once when you import it.
- **A 24-hour timeline** on the Library tab shows what will air next.
- **The download folder is on Home**, with the drive's free space beside it and a warning when the planned download will not fit.

## Fixed

Downloads now show their progress; YouTube downloads merge video and audio instead of failing; a broadcast that is still live is skipped until it ends rather than saved cut off; Cancel and Quit really stop a download; and Twitch's current recording format is prepared once after download instead of being left out of the loop. ## What it costs

Every feature is free — both sources, all nine destinations, the whole 24-hour window, unlimited streaming. The free version puts a small royalsoftworks.com mark in the corner of the outgoing video. **Pro is €20 once, VAT included**, and removes it. See [pricing](https://royalsoftworks.com/pricing/) or the [Stream ReRuns page](https://royalsoftworks.com/products/stream-reruns/).

## Frequently asked questions

What does Stream ReRuns do?

It keeps the last day of your own past broadcasts — a Twitch channel's archives or a YouTube channel's finished live streams — on your disk, and plays them out on a loop to one destination: Twitch, YouTube, Kick, Facebook, Rumble, TikTok, Trovo, Restream or any custom RTMP or RTMPS address.

Why does it end a stream on purpose?

Twitch cuts a broadcast at 48 hours and Facebook at 8, and a quick reconnect is stitched into the same broadcast, so reconnecting never resets the clock. Stream ReRuns closes the session itself shortly before the cap, waits long enough for the next one to be a new broadcast, and starts again.

What happens if my connection drops?

The broadcast is retried automatically. A watchdog also notices an encoder that is still running but no longer sending anything — the failure that looks alive — and restarts it. Waking the computer from sleep restarts the broadcast too.

Does it start over after a restart?

Not after an automatic one: the loop carries on from the same broadcast and the same second. A manual Stop and Start still begins at the top.

Can I add my own videos?

Yes. Imports from disk join the loop, and anything that does not match the loop's recording format is converted once on import. Any broadcast can also be pinned first, last, between every other one, or by date.

Is Stream ReRuns affiliated with Twitch or YouTube?

No. It is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Twitch, YouTube, Kick, Facebook, TikTok, Trovo, Rumble, Restream or any other service. Those names say only where a stream comes from or goes to.
